In the busy workflow of the clinic and the doctor, many tasks take a lot of mental space. From collecting the correct info to noting the treatment’s progress notes as you go. We are sure you wouldn’t mind lifting some of these mental tasks off your head and having a system for them.
In the normal process of requesting a followup for a patient, the doctor decides when is an appropriate time for the next appointment. Then usually the doctor walks out with the patient or phones the receptionist to schedule the follow-up. The receptionist finds the right time according to the doctor’s schedule and informs the patient. In this whole process, the doctor had to leave the room and walk with the patient to the reception when this process could be done without leaving the room and requesting the follow-up most easily.
Requesting the follow-up by phone isn’t the worst way but there’s an improvement. Why not have the system in which you manage your appointments help you with the follow-up appointments as well?
Balsam Medico is very serious about making your workflow as seamless as possible and proudly this has been done by providing the doctors the Follow-up feature.
During the doctor’s visit, the main page used is the “Current Visit” view. On the top left of the page next to the Finish Visit button, you will find the “Schedule followup” option. Before ending the visit, if you wish to schedule a follow-up appointment, simply click on the period you want. The options given are only days as the doctor usually doesn’t know their schedule and is not responsible for it. So as a doctor, all you have to do is select the date (either tomorrow, next week, next month, or a specific date). And finally, finish the visit. Now you are all done with requesting a follow-up and it is up to the person in charge of the appointments to schedule it.
As for the receptionist or the person in charge of the appointments, your main page is the “Appointments” page. On the left side of the page, is the Doctor’s list. If you notice next to it, you will find the Follow Ups Tab. In this tab, you will find all the appointments requested by the doctor. The minute the doctor requests, you will receive a notification. Click on the tab and click on the appointment. Then choose the best time for the doctor and confirm with the patient.
Some treatments require multiple follow-up appointments. So to help you out and make it easier, Balsam Medico has made it better. We have implemented an automatic follow-up for certain treatments. Once the treatment is completed, the system automatically sets a follow-up for the desired, configured time. As an example, prophylaxis treatments require a 6-month follow-up appointment. So instead of manually creating it, let Medico create it for you.
