In Balsam Medico, it’s all about the users. In the modern dental clinic, the use of an effective management system is far more important than one can imagine. With each member of the team performing their duties efficiently and securely, the system can now operate in the most seamless way.

The users are an important asset in the usage of the system. Through their input, data and its management have always been easy. Each role has its benefits and restrictions. 

Roles in Medico are quite different from other clinic management systems. They use specific privileges for each account. This means assigning specific privileges to each team member and determining the extent of their access to the clinic’s management system. 

Key roles in dental clinics and their privileges in Balsam Medico

  • Clinic Administrator

With access to all the features of Medico, the admin can control the access and data to whom it may show. They can create and delete the members’ accounts, manage the financial division and alter the configurations to their liking.

  • Dentist

Their main job is treating the patient and giving the best experience so the default pages for the dentist are “Planner” and “My Schedule”. The admin can add the “Patient” tab as a privilege for the doctors to check the complete patient list. 

  • Receptionist

Their responsibility is to manage the clinic’s appointments so their main view is the “Appointments” page. Additional pages are what we call privileges given to the receptionist role such as “Patients” and “Finance”.

There are many reasons why we created dynamic roles in the system, let’s talk about a few:

  • Security 

By limiting their access, you can ensure that the patient’s data and fragile data are not accessible to any team member. This protects the privacy and complies with data protection regulations. 

  • Accountability

Every activity or event being done in the system is saved and kept for record. So role-specific privileges make it easier to track actions, ensuring that each team member is accountable for their responsibilities. 

So what to do in Balsam Medico?

First, we are going to get familiar with the privileges in Medico. Some examples are:

  • “Delete patients”
  • “Finance”
  • “Send SMS to patients”

To view the rest, contact us to give you a complete list of the privileges. 

Next, identify the roles. For each role “Receptionist”, “Admin” or any other dynamic role, select the privileges you wish to give to this role. Roles are now created and when adding a new staff, under the role section, choose one of the pre-defined roles we created. The pages and options will appear to the staff according to their role.
