With an admin account, you can view the audit log through the admin area page. Click on the Settings icon and choose Admin Area from the list. Scroll down to Audit log under the Clinic settings section. This page shows every event happening in your system. It shows the timestamp, staff member’s name, event type, event name and subject. To read extra details on the event, click on ‘View details’. There are more page-specific audit logs to view. Some examples are:
- Appointment log in the appointment details box.
- View audit log in the patient profile
- View audit log in Invoice page
- View audit log in Claim page
Each one will show a log of all the events that occurred on this page. For example: The audit log in the patient profile will show events like patient added, patient partially updated, patient report generated and many more. In the ‘patient added’ event, you can see who created this event and when.
But why is it important? As an admin, viewing the audit log helps ensure accountability for every action taken within the clinic. It reduces the risk of errors and lets staff members be more conscious of their actions. It also helps to track who accessed patient records, what changes were made and when. With audit logs, admins can gain insight into the day-to-day operations of the clinic. This data can inform decisions related to staffing, scheduling and workflow improvements, ultimately leading to a more efficient clinic.
